The Junior Vocal Group

As of last year, a new project designed for older children (for ages 10 to 18 yrs.) has taken shape: a vocal group characterised by a more focused teaching style.   This activity is seen as the natural sequel to the Children’s Choir and aims to continue their choral music education at a more advanced level.
Similarly to the Children’s Choir, the Junior Vocal Group aims to:

• Heighten the sensitivity of children through singing and musical learning, based on a repertoire which caters to the child’s expressive capacity and vocal experience.
• Provide moments of group interaction and socialisation within a context of friendship, teamwork and supportiveness.
• Train children to become more self-aware and to listen to themselves and each other.

Choral singing is an exciting and engaging experience which is characterised not only by its artistic and recreational aspects, but also by its educational value. Indeed, by singing in a choir, children learn to engage and behave in a more responsible and respectful way, both with themselves and each other. Along the way, children also learn to socialise and share other important values, such as friendship, teamwork and supportiveness, by working towards a shared goal.
