Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir, directed by M° Riccardo
Cossi, is an initiative born in 2015 and open to all children between ages 3-10
yrs. In addition, a new project, aimed at older children (for ages 10-18 yrs.)
and characterised by a more focused teaching style, was added last year. For further information, please click here.
The activity of the Children’s Choir is based on
the serious and safe learning of the basics of choral singing and seeks to
develop the following goals:
- Heighten the sensitivity of children through
singing and musical learning, based on a repertoire which caters to the child’s
expressive capacity and vocal experience.
- Provide moments of group interaction and socialisation
within a context of friendship, teamwork and supportiveness.
- Train children to become more self-aware and to
listen to themselves and each other.
Choral singing is an exciting and engaging experience which is
characterised not only by its artistic and recreational aspects, but also by
its educational value.
Indeed, by singing in a choir, children learn to engage and behave in a
more responsible and respectful way, both with themselves and each other. Along
the way, children also learn to socialise and share other important values,
such as friendship, teamwork and supportiveness, by working towards a shared
goal.
“Special talents” are not required…. What’s important is the desire
to share each other’s company and learn whilst having fun!!
