Within the framework of the Accademia’s annual “Concerti dell’Accademia”
programme, aside from the three headline events (Maggio
Musicale, Settembre Musicale and Concerti Spirituali), other events, pertaining
to the educational and tutorial activities of the association, are organised.
Particular mention is given to the “Saggi degli Allievi” (or Student
Showcases), during which the students of Organ and Pianoforte, the Children’s
Choir and the Junior Vocal Group showcase what they have learnt and
experimented during the academic year.
The lecture-concerts and the guided tours of the
organ-loft, organised for Primary and Secondary schools, present youths with an
opportunity to explore and discover the secrets of the organ, an instrument of
great wonder and otherwise difficultly accessible.
Amongst other significant events, special
mention is reserved for those concerts which are often organised in fervent
partnership with other musical scenarios of the area, including the Choir and
Orchestra of the University of Trieste and the Gruppo Incontro. The annual
traditional Christmas concert of Trieste’s Civic Chapel, organised by the
Accademia, is another popular event.
In 2024, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary
of his passing, the Accademia Organistica Tergestina took part in organising
one of the concerts dedicated to the memory of acclaimed musician, Marco
Sofianopulo (date of death: November 14th,
2014).
